Reemergence

So, I've been aWoL and for good reasons. Since the last few months I've been busy with many changes. Other than finishing up the last year of my first year at art school and work, I've been preparing for the next year by getting trying to get other things going. As you might have noticed, because of the distractions and demand from those other stuff mentioned, I have never got to finish or touch up with Mark of the Shadow or the Deep Blue. I'm planning on returning to those two projects and hoping that I'll be able to display the work for the Deep Blue sometime in the winter (shooting for Dec/Jan). I'll be showing those progresses as I move along with each.

On top of that, I've been working on setting up a portfolio and developing a more significant style. I'm still playing around and searching for the voice that I want to represent me, but meanwhile I'm just experimenting and learning the world of art through different materials. I will be posting those as well as my thoughts and ideas from my sketch books. Some of these will be characters or scenes for future projects I have in mind. once my voice and style become more honed I'll be returning back to those and start creating those stories and pictures to be as I feel and envision.

To follow up this last process, I am collecting more specific resources to help guide me and nurture me towards the publishing market. I'm working with a coach who used to work for a big company in England as an art editor for more than 9 years. I will be taking figure and life drawing classes and hopefully find a private teacher or two that will be able to help me focus on more specific things where I am weak at. I have also found a friend in graphic design that has been throwing me a job here and there and I'm hoping that this as well starts to fan out so I can start relying more on this as a set income. And finally, what initially started out as a volunteer work at a Yiddish Culture Club, has turned out to be a place for me to be a Web Contect Manager and Art Designer with small pay. I'm hoping this next year I'll be able to design and create some really interesting things with a Yiddish theme and topic as my direction.

So, as I continue to create this next new world for me to be a true artist, I plan on sharing this process and the work that I do that follows to allow you all to see what may or may not come to be a future for me.
